Mark Huey delivers the March 2021 Outreach Israel News update.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10, NASU).
During this past year of human history, as people were preoccupied with concerns over viral infections, financial challenges, and corruption in governmental institutions—a malicious and infectious disease of media manipulated trepidation blanketed the world. The natural and spiritual components of this frightful propaganda, both visible and invisible, continues to flood the Zeitgeist of modern thinking, like an anticipated tsunami threatening a calm and fragile coastline. Cleverly, this unsubstantiated and contrived spirit of fear has two primary vectors. First, it is propelled by the morbid anticipation of a sudden and premature physical death, propagated by the incessant and hysterical COVID-19 messaging. Secondly, yet subliminally as life threatening, is a more distant death watch looming just a mere decade away. This coming, all-encompassing extermination of humanity, is ostensibly accelerated by the Earth’s apparent “climate change,” to non-survivable catastrophic levels. Sandwiched in between the immediate demise of individual people and the future collapse of the environment, purportedly choked numb by carbon emissions, is a frenzied expressed “brief” period of time to alter these life-ending outcomes.
One can only imagine how the great majority of people, without the assurance of eternal life, process these circumstances. After all, when men and women place their hope of corporeal longevity on the shifting sands of scientifically concocted theories, that are frequently modified for various agendas by entities controlled by the “prince of the power of air” (Lucifer), fearful and carnal conclusions flourish. Nevertheless, Believers have been warned about the “course or ways of this world” from ancient times, as noted by the Apostle Paul:
“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest” (Ephesians 2:1-3, NASU).
Hence, as noted by Qohelet, “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9, NASU) when it comes to the “wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11, KJV). Nevertheless, this inherent problem to all people, is why Yeshua the Messiah instructed His Disciples to instead, place their hope and trust on the Rock of Salvation, to wisely weather the inevitable storms of life:
“Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great” (Luke 6:46-49, NASU).
Be forewarned, brothers and sisters, and build your trust on the Holy One of Israel! For most assuredly, by God’s grace, the Apostle Paul reminds his disciple Timothy and Believers today, that God has endowed His saints with the Holy Spirit led ability to overcome the fear induced hysteria that world powers and spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12) are promoting:
“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity [fear], but of power and love and discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7, NASU).
However, what happens when it appears that most people, and in particular, the influencers of societies—who are without faith in the Holy One of Israel and His promises of eternal life—constantly disseminate their fear-inducing agendas? Is it possible that in their desperate desire to preserve their physical life and control the masses, they establish systems and programs to avoid, or at the very least, lengthen an inevitable physical death?
Lamentably, this appears to be the case, as the Information Age coupled with the Digital Age, has produced what is rapidly becoming an enhanced collusion of seemingly vital entities, to coordinate technological global governance. Of course, to make this acceptable to the people of the world, the fear of death conveniently justifies the collaboration for perceived short-term safety and prolonged survival of humanity. Hence, this clever “technocracy” is ultimately being driven by the spirit of fear, and will eventually be implemented by force when compliance is avoided by those suspicious of its nefarious intentions.
What are the components of this relatively new form of world governance that is strategically advancing to achieve its objectives? Is it possibly the prophesied one world government that oversees commerce foreseen in the Book of Revelation? This is a difficult question to answer, because the interpretations of Revelation’s words have been all over the board down through the ages. I have even joked that the “beast system” is actually a mistranslation of the Greek word therion, which should be translated as the “Bezos system,” making light of the incredible growth of Amazon, the company founded by Jeff Bezos. With all lightheartedness aside, there are some serious implications for the merger of technologies with perverse controlling motives. Just think about the different interpretations of this passage:
“And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:16-17, NASU).
Despite the many theories about what the Apostle John was observing in his ancient vision, there is no doubt that the technological tools required to monitor commerce (buying and selling) are available today to implement the mark of the beast system. The maturation of the Digital Age, including the World Wide Web or Internet, and our ubiquitous smartphones—which we seemingly cannot do without—have people substantially dependent on these tools for access to information and the transaction of purchases and sales. Compliment these bulky items with emerging nano technology, and the reduction in size forecasts the practicality of an implanted chip to maintain connectivity with the purveyors of data floating in the atmosphere.
Now imagine how critical information and superfluous data is being gathered or distributed by five seemingly harmless systems, perceived to make life better—and especially much safer—minimizing the fear components mentioned above. These systems include: (1) banking information by centralized authorities like the U.S. Federal Reserve, (2) medical information collected by doctors and pharmaceutical entities (Big Pharma), (3) Big Media consumption by cable and Internet connections, (4) Big Tech usage by the titans in Silicon Valley, and (5) military and intelligence monitoring activity on the various airwaves (emails, texts, phone conversations) legalized by means such as the Patriot Act. Understand that this data is being stored on individual users in what are called cloud servers, that maintain this information flow. While it appears that each of these five verticals are independent of one another, what can happen at some point in time if a merger of these unique information gatherers, for the purposes of “security” or some other reason justified by the elite class, is implemented?
From “the cloud” of information gathered, with cross referencing to individual files, the emerging “technocracy” can establish controls beyond simply eaves dropping on a phone call, or intercepting a text or email. Then the question arises about just who is going to control this technological merger, when every person plugged into these systems seemingly has a unique file which contains all of his or her personal and vital information… This, and many more unanswered questions, are presently adding another layer of fear, to even those followers of the Almighty One who are endowed with the Holy Spirit.
What are Believers to do when knowledge of this foreboding technocracy or one world government is evidently approaching, and becomes much more threatening to a free society formulated on Judeo-Christian principles than “gain of function” viruses and hyped climate change? Is the new “-ism” labeled as “Scientism” going to replace fundamental belief systems that have endured for millennia? After all, science is never settled but is simply developing, as humanity hurtles toward a diabolically inspired socialistic utopia, that will denigrate, and eventually discard ancient texts like the Holy Scriptures. Of course, this is not a wonderful future to contemplate. However, it appears from published data readily available to be the direction the world systems are actively collaborating to achieve.
Obviously, the first thing to do is to not be frightened or be fearful. Rather, we need to simply be aware of what is transpiring in the modern world with all its controlling tactics. I believe that a more significant “eternal cloud” that has endured through the ages, is where each of us should focus our faith and attention, recognizing that threats to humanity have been around since the Creation:
“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Yeshua, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart” (Hebrews 12:1-3, NASU).
Here, the author of Hebrews reminds the faithful that eliminating entangling sin and running the race set before us, while focused upon the finished work of the Messiah Yeshua, is critical to avoid weariness and losing heart. After all, it is imperative that the children of God walk by faith and not by sight, as articulated by the Apostle Paul, where he explains Believers’ positional status as tents, but also as recipients of the Spirit of God or Ruach HaKodesh:
“For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven, inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked. For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life. Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge. Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord—for we walk by faith, not by sight—we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Messiah, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences” (2 Corinthians 5:1-11, NASU).
Have you noticed some of your personal groanings, petitions, supplications, and pleas that have ushered forth from your innermost being, have dramatically increased with understanding many of the realities of the world systems mentioned above? I hope so, because they are very alarming! Consequently, the intercession of the saints has grown exponentially, as godly people are being awakened to the reality that the fulfillment of many of the prophecies regarding the End of the Age are here and now! Nevertheless, it is incumbent upon followers of the Messiah Yeshua to have a holy fear of the Lord, and not be fearful of the circumstances of the modern era. Above all, the opportunities to witness to others about the hope that is within you has never been greater. The faithful ones must remember that the Almighty hears our prayers and is against those who do evil:
“‘FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TOT HEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL’ [Psalm 34:15-16]. Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED [Isaiah 8:12], but sanctify Messiah as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence” (1 Peter 3:12-15, NASU).
Always remember that the great cloud of witnesses, with their lack of fear in their respective eras and testimonies of faithfulness to the Holy One, are real and are an inspiration to all who call upon the name of the Lord. These forerunners of the faith are cheering us along the path of righteousness, and at some appointed time, will welcome us with open arms. Now that is something to look forward to when our numbered days in this Earthly tent have been completed! In the interim, fear not and remember, “though He slay me, I will hope in Him” (Job 13:15a, NASU):
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10, NASU).
Finally, take some time to read Revelation chs. 2-3 and the admonitions to the seven assemblies. Note that despite some strong words to each group of Believers, the exhortation to be an overcomer resonates in each case. Hence, regardless of the overwhelming spirit of fear, and concerns about where the world is headed, it is a Believer’s responsibility and challenge to overcome all the circumstances presently flooding the world stage. Our individual assignment is to point and lead people to the saving work of Yeshua’s atoning sacrifice!
It is conceivable that the time forecast in the prophecy of Daniel is rapidly approaching, when wise followers of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be so illuminated by the Holy Spirit, that they supernaturally draw seeking souls to themselves and turn many to the truth of the Kingdom and the righteousness found alone in the Messiah Yeshua (Matthew 6:33).
“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:3, NASU).
Be a fearless and wise overcomer! Always recall that our God is an awesome God, and He is always in control. To Him be the glory, honor, and power forever and ever. Amen.
